You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people reach out because they're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns that no longer seem to be working. If something in your life or relationships feels harder than it used to, therapy may be a helpful place to start.
-
That's completely okay. Many people begin therapy with a general sense that something feels off, but aren't sure how to put it into words yet. Part of our work together is slowing down and getting curious about what's happening beneath the surface.
-
Our consultation is a chance for us to get to know one another and determine whether we're a good fit. I'll ask a few questions about what's bringing you to therapy, you'll have space to ask questions about my approach, and together we'll decide whether moving forward feels right.
-
Your appointment time is held exclusively for you. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all scheduled sessions.
Same-day cancellations and cancellations made within 24 hours of your session will incur a charge of the full session fee.
-
The first session is less about diving into everything all at once and more about helping me understand you. We'll explore what's bringing you to therapy, what's feeling most important right now, and what you're hoping will feel different moving forward.
-
A previous therapy experience doesn't mean therapy isn't for you. Sometimes it's about timing. Sometimes it's about fit. Sometimes you were looking for something different than what was offered. If you've had a disappointing experience in the past, you're welcome to tell me about it during our consultation.
-
There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come for support through a specific challenge, while others stay longer as they work through deeper patterns and relationship dynamics. We'll regularly check in about what's feeling helpful and what you need.

Psychotherapy is unfortunately not covered under OHIP, OW or ODSP.
Most extended health benefits cover psychotherapy services. Speak with your insurance provider about counselling services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist to understand your eligibility and approved rates of coverage.

Both Registered Psychotherapists and Psychologists provide therapy in Ontario. Psychologists are also trained to conduct psychological assessments and testing. Registered Psychotherapists specialize in providing psychotherapy and counselling services. Depending on your goals, either professional may be an appropriate fit.
