Laura Maksymetz, Registered Psychotherapist, in a bright therapy office in Burlington, Ontario.

I care deeply about supporting people through emotional and relationship struggles that leave them feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and disconnected from themselves and the people they love.

Being human is complicated. We can care deeply about our lives and relationships and still struggle with how we feel, how we respond, or how life unfolds. Even when things feel difficult, there are possibilities for growth. You don't have to judge yourself for where you are to begin getting clear on where you want to go.

I believe exploring what feels hard with honesty and curiosity is one of the more courageous things a person can do. Together, we'll understand what's happening in your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and body. I'll share what I'm noticing, offer perspective, and gently challenge you when it feels helpful. My role is to help you reconnect with your strength, feel more confident, and build new ways of navigating relationships and life’s challenges and joys.

Hi, I’m Laura Maksymetz,

a Registered Psychotherapist in Burlington, Ontario.

There’s more to you than the life you’ve learned to live.

How you respond to life’s challenges has been shaped over time, often in ways that once helped you cope, feel safe, or stay connected. You might push through, overthink, stay in control, achieve, or pull away when things feel like too much.

My approach is grounded in the belief that your feelings and responses make sense in context of your life. Anxiousness, overwhelm, self-doubt, or big emotional reactions are not flaws or failures, but signals that some of the ways you’ve learned to cope in life are no longer working for you.

Therapy offers space to understand your patterns and experiences without judgment or blame, and to explore what you want to hold on to and what you may be ready to change.
